The DynamicBackgroundExtraction tool, or DBE for short, is an accurate and versatile tool for background modeling in PixInsight. In the first part of this tutorial, we show a step-by-step processing example where DBE is applied to correct a deep-sky image for uneven illumination and color caused by light-pollution gradients. In the second part of the tutorial, we demonstrate how a relatively simple procedure can be applied to achieve an excellent result, thanks to an accurate gradient removal in PixInsight.
