Report Software Piracy
Software piracy is the unauthorized copying or distribution of copyrighted software. This can be done by copying, sharing, reverse engineering or, in general, by breaching the terms of a software license.
We are a small emerging company that depends exclusively on its own resources. Software development is neither a hobby nor a game for us: it is our professional activity. We need selling software licenses in order to support ourselves economically, and to ensure the resources necessary to continue our research and development work on PixInsight.
If our software is pirated, we are hurt and you, the user, are hurt as well. It is extremely frustrating and discouraging having to invest our time and resources in creating new software protections, instead of employing them in developing new and improved tools and features in PixInsight.
PixInsight is a vital project for us. We back our software with hard work every day. There are many hard working years and lots of dreams and hope put in our software. Some multinational software corporations base a large part of their profit on piracy, as a vehicle to gain a huge market share, and as a weapon to stop competing products. This is NOT our philosophy of business. We actually are victims of "free" imaging applications produced by multinational corporations.
So we'll truly appreciate if you can specifically:
- Provide us with the URL for websites you suspect may be selling or distributing unlicensed PixInsight software.
- Inform us about the existence of illegal copies of PixInsight.
- Inform us about cracking or hacking activities related to PixInsight.
Please use our Contact Form to report any abuse or piracy activity in relation to our software. If we can stop piracy, we win and you win because we'll be able to continue working for you.
